Equestrian Vaulting is a rapidly growing sport which can be best described as gymnastics on a moving horse. The horse is controlled by a lunger and moves in a 15 metre circle as the vaulters perform gymnastic movements holding on to two handles on the back of the horse. We can have up to three vaulters on the horse at one time.
The Pegasus Vaulting Group
Pegasus Vaulting Group is based in Killiecrankie, near Pitlochry and is totally separate from Amanda and Kirsty’s fitness and therapy business. The connection is that Kirsty was a member of the British junior team up until December 2005, Then she moved on to work for one of the best horse stunt teams in Europe, developing her skills, taking part and helping backstage with live shows all around the country doing Vaulting, Tricking riding, Jousting, Chariot racing and Wild West shows. Now she brings all her vaulting experience to Pegasus vaulting group by encouraging others to enjoy this sport.
Training is on a Wednesday evening. Vaulters of all ages from 6 to 46, at all different levels from beginners up to advanced. If this sounds like fun - it is great fun so why not come and give it a try!!
Pegasus Vaulting Group is doing lots of demonstrations/ shows this year they include
- Blair Atholl Gala Nights
- Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair
- Atholl Skills Trail
- And more shows to be confirmed.
We also do private vaulting lessons, corporate events and team building days.
Trick Riding
Trick riding is not for the faint hearted!! Trick riding is like vaulting but is done on a straight line at a gallop, there is no lunger, so you need to be in control of the horse while carrying out your trick.
