Relax, Rejuvenate and Ease the Stress Away with our Alternative Therapy Treatment

Bowen Technique

What is Bowen?
Originally from Australia, it was developed by the late Tom Bowen, it has since flourished and spread world-wide to Highland Perthshire.

It is a non-invasive, holistic therapy consisting of a sequence of gentle moves over muscles and soft tissue, which can be carried out through light clothing.
During the treatment, pauses of several minutes are important to allow the body to absorb and respond to the moves.

How can Bowen help me?
Bowen treats your whole body, not just the presenting symptoms, prompting your body to redress physical imbalances, re-alignment and heal injuries, promoting relief from pain and renewal of energy.

Usually two or three treatments are required to bring about long term relief, making it cost effective. Treatments at regular intervals provide stress management and health maintenance.

Conditions which have responded to Bowen
Bowen has a very broad spectrum of application, including back pain, sciatica, knee and ankle problems, respiratory problems, frozen shoulder, whiplash, migraine, IBS, fertility matters, stress and anxiety. This list is by no means exhaustive. One of the unique things about Bowen is its adaptability. It has helped many people to lead more active lives, often enabling them to return to work after a lengthy absence.

Who will benefit from Bowen?
Men, women and children of all ages. It can help to improve the quality of life for the terminally ill and to relieve the symptoms of infantile colic.

Client Comments
Back Pain Male aged 35yrs , Pitlochry
"I was very sceptical during my first treatment, I am use to heavy duty massage, couldn’t imagine how this light touch could do any good. When my treatment was finished I felt that my whole body was so heavy, which was a surprise, as I didn’t think that much had been done. After Two treatments and advise about exercise, I have no more pain!"

Frozen Shoulder Female aged 65yrs, Blair Atholl
"I was in so much pain I couldn’t move my arm in any direction. In desperation I tried Bowen. After the first treatment I could move my arm slightly and the pain had started to decrease. Two further treatments and I now have full use of my arm and no pain. "

Relaxation / Swedish Massage

Relaxation / Swedish Massage eases stress and tension whilst relaxing and revitalising your muscles. It stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems further inducing relaxation and feelings of wellbeing.

Warm towels and a tranquil ambience await you!

Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy can be either massage or the bowen technique whichever you prefer, it’s your treatment! Although we are always happy to advise.

Sports Massage Therapy doesn’t have to be painful, we promise!!

Any injury whether sports related or otherwise will have recovery time reduced if treated promptly and effectively. Your treatment would consist of taking Sports Massagenotes detailing the history and then assessing your problem, specific massage or Bowen, M.E.T stretching, rehabilitation exercises and advice to help prevent re-injury and lifestyle related ailments.

Sports Therapy is an important part of any training programme, helping to improve performance and endurance, preventing injuries and loss of flexibility.

Indian Head Massage

The art of Indian Head Massage is an Ayurvedic form of healing and relaxation used widely in Asia, mainly by masseurs and hairdressers, to combat daily tension and stress. This form of massage is now one of the most popular therapies available at the moment.

The Malish technique addresses the back, neck, scalp and face using a variety of massage pressures and techniques and is one of the most relaxing types of massages you will ever experience. A typical treatment normally lasts 45 minutes.

Hopi Ear Candling

Hopi ear candling is a very safe therapy and its popularity is growing as more people become aware of its positive benefits.

The process of Hopi ear candling involves specially designed hollow candle being inserted just inside the ear canal. The candle is then lit and the suction that is formed draws the impurities from within the ear. This process is known as the chimney effect. The rising air gives the ear drum a gentle massage and also helps to regulate ear pressure. A small amount of ear wax is also removed during the treatment.

Reiki

Reiki, meaning "universal life force energy", aims to improve health and enhance the quality of life.

It treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.

Reiki will improve the results of all medical treatment, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time, reduce or eliminate pain, reduce stress, and help create optimism.

During a Reiki treatment, the patient usually lies fully clothed on a padded table in a warm, comfortable room. A thorough session lasts between 60 to 90 minutes. For stress reduction one to two sessions are satisfactory, however for chronic conditions long-term treatment may be recommended. Due to its gentle nature, many people fall asleep during this soothing experience of healing.

Childrens Clinic

It’s not just adults that need treatment; we treat children with a range of symptoms from newborn babies that don’t sleep to infant’s bedwetting to teenagers with growing pains. Whatever the problem we have a therapy to help.
